Do you suffer from dry hair or breakage? Co-wash your hair!!!!

Yes. Co-wash your hair!!! Well what is co-washing you may ask? Co-washing is when you wash your hair with conditioner instead of shampoo. Simple huh? It sure is!!

The purpose of co-washing is to moisturize your scalp and hair. It gives it a natural shine. It also keeps it soft and detangles it.  This is meant to be done in between shampoo washes to keep your hair healthy. You will notice less breakage and shedding as your hair strengthens. It also rids the hair of any product build-up that may be on the hair.

How to co-wash: Rinse your hair thoroughly. Then apply the conditioner of your choice to your scalp and hair. Work it through then rinse it out. Then apply more conditioner to the scalp and hair again, but this time allow it to sit on your hair for about 15 min. (you may put a plastic cap over it if you desire). Of course, if you are co-washing in the shower, just allow it to sit on the hair and rinse out at the end of the shower.

I am on a journey for complete healthy hair. As I learn new things and find out what works for me, I'll share my tips with you. However, you must find out what works for you. Let's take control of the health of our hair!!

The Battle: Natural or Relaxed Hair??

Why is this such a "war" in the black community? You can hear sisters in the natural hair corner shouting, "my hair is healthier!" Then you have the sisters in the relaxed hair corner shouting, "relaxed hair is more manageable!"

Quite a few people were outraged last year when Jill Scott went from her natural big afro to a short spiked relaxed hair cut!!! I couldn't believe some of the things that I was reading on the blogs and twitter. People literally felt betrayed!! REALLY? Lol. I was really cracking up when people were saying that she fell for the creamy crack (relaxer). Smh

I personally was transitioning from relaxed to natural hair last year. It lasted for nearly a year.  It was a pretty good experience, but I prefer relaxed hair as of now. I am not saying that I will never go natural. When some ladies hear me say that I love my relaxed hair, they seem bothered or annoyed. I get the notion that some natural women automatically assume that a relaxed women has unhealthy hair. That can be untrue for quite a few relaxed women. Let me say this and get it out of the way because I do not want anyone to get the wrong impression. I think that natural hair is beautiful--especially those who rock it with great confidence!! I love it. However, I don't like it when women with natural hair frown on women with relaxed hair. What is the problem? I don't get it. People can do whatever they want with their own hair. If it is raggedy and a mess, so be it. It is their hair. To me natural over relaxed hair does not make ones hair better. I have witnessed women with natural hair who have areas of thinning. It is all in how you take care of your hair. I have also seen the same with women with relaxed hair AND women with relaxed hair that is waist length or even longer!

There is a horrible stigma put on black women that we cannot grow long healthy hair (whether it maybe natural or relaxed). I think the problem has been that for years some black women did not really know how to care for their texture of hair. Am I right about it? But in this day in time, we have youtube and other websites that help us to find out what texture of hair we have, what products are best for us and so forth. So time is truly on our side. We CAN have healthy long hair. It is all up to the individual. So if you are #TeamNatural then AWESOME! If you are #TeamRelaxed then go YOU! LOL. My beauties what is our take on this topic. Trend Alert!!! -Color blocking

Hello Beauties!!!!

I hope that everyone had a great day!!! I am so blessed and filled with joy!!!

I wanted to share some fashion trends with you all. Please weigh in and tell me what you think. I am posting things here and there trying to get a feel of how I really want this blog to flow. So if you have some ideas, let me know.

Something that has really caught my attention this season is the color blocking trend. It is not exactly a new trend  but is definitely back with a big bang.  Can we say 80's!!!! You can Color Block with your clothes, nails, hair (for those that don't mind stepping on the wild side with their hair color), etc ?

However, I have seen some people destructively try to color block but to no avail! LOL.  Since they often involve the use of bright colours or many different colours together, it is easy to go wrong with it. The best way to pair colour block trends whether it’s for shoes, a tunic or a top is with other basic colours such as black, white, brown and gray. This way your colour block will pop out more and look more polished.

Color block fashion is one of the hottest new trends for the season. It combines the use of two or more blocks of color in an ensemble. This could be for a top, bottom, tunic, a dress and even a handbag or shoes. Simply it means – creating an outfit by putting areas or blocks of solid color next to each other. It can include monotone, bright colors, muted colors, contrasting and complimentary colors. Clothes, shoes, handbags and accessories can all feature color block designs or can make up different blocks of color to be put together for a color block outfit. -makeup and beauty

Beauty tip of the day!

Hi my BEAUTIES!!!

So as for the beauty tip of the day...we all love and want beautiful skin right? Of course we do. LOL.  We tend to spend a lot of money trying to keep our skin looking fresh and young. I have a tip for you!! Have you ever tried to get rid of black heads and white heads on your face? Well here's a homemade remedy. Take egg whites and mix them until they  look cloudy!!!

Then apply the egg whites with your fingers evenly to your face (I know you're like huh, but yep!)

After applying the egg whites to your face take some tissue and tear off pieces and apply it to your face on top of the egg white.  The egg whites should be moist that it will stick to the tissue. Allow the tissue to dry on your face for about 15 min and it is completely hard on your face.

Yeah it looks crazy but this is how you apply the tissue on top of the egg white. After it dries, slowly remove each piece of tissue---because you will see the white heads and black heads on the tissue. It is going to be stiff and hard. So you will need to be very careful.

Then you will have a nicely smooth and fresh face. It does some cleansing to the pores also. Here's what you'll look like when you're done.

Perfect Skin. Have a great time egging your face.

If you have a beauty tip of the day request or if you have one of your own, email me MrsFabulousBeautyBlog@gmail.com and I will be glad to post your beauty tip!!

Introduction to the blog

Hi there Beauties!!!!!

This belong will be mostly about beauty product reviews, make-up (tutorials), skin care, hair care, etc!! I have found that I have a love for make-up. I am on a journey to educate myself and others about how to take care of their skin and just look fabulous!! I consider myself a newbie to this and as I learn, I love to share. You will get to see video and pic tutorials of hair and make-up.

As a little girl, I had a talent to do hair.  I did most of my family and friends hair.  I have a sister who is 14 months younger than me and most of the precious moments in her life, I did her hair/make-up! When I look back on it, I wasn't too bad. LOL! I did her hair for prom (11th and 12th grade year) and her hair for her senior trip!! She got lots of compliments and brought back request for me to do others hair.

I never pursued a career in hair because I was not too sure that I would be able to handle any criticism of  my work. You know, if you do someone's hair and they do not like it, then you will have to try to recreate something to their liking...well...I wasn't too willing to do that. LOL! So I decided to study business. I know right?!?! Anyway, today I have learned a lot about make-up and skin care and I would love to make a part-time career out of it.

So this blog will help me to reach out to others with my own learned ideas as well as to learn more!! As I stated it will feature beauty in general. Here's too beauty blogging!!!! Woo Hoo!!
